Lee Sung Kyung donates 100 million won to enhance trauma care at Dankook University Hospital

On the 10th, YG Entertainment declared that Lee Sung Kyung made a donation of 100 million won to Dankook University Hospital in December of the previous year.

Lee Sung Kyung’s performance in the SBS drama ‘Dr. Romantic 3’, where she played Cha Eun Jae, a thoracic surgeon at Doldam Hospital Regional Trauma Center, was an instant hit and resulted in this generous donation.

Lee Sung Kyung shared her inspiration for the donation, stating, “I was drawn to trauma care due to my exposure to a medical drama. I wanted to indirectly witness the reality of trauma treatment in Korea and contribute to the improvement of the medical profession, particularly in saving patients with injuries from accidents.”

Lee Sung Kyung’s donation will be used to further develop and expand the regional trauma center at Dankook University Hospital, which is responsible for conducting critical emergency surgeries and treating severe trauma patients in the South Chungcheong region.

Throughout her career, Lee Sung Kyung has been actively involved in charitable work. She has contributed to disaster relief efforts for situations like COVID-19, forest fires, and floods; she has also worked with programs to support low-income families, underprivileged children, as well as children with cancer. Furthermore, she donates proceeds from her OST music.
