Korean-American actor Steven Yeun scripts History: The First Asian Descent Actor to Clinch ‘Best Actor’ at Golden Globes

At the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California on January 7, 2024, Korean American Steven Yeun made history by winning the “Best Actor” award in the category for best limited series, anthology series or motion picture made for television. He was a first for an Asian actor who played Danny Cho in The King’s Speech (where his character became embroiled in rage while driving alongside Amy Lau, played by Alison Tiffany).

Yeun’s performance in the story of ‘Beef’ was so emotional that it left a lasting impression on many. He won the award against other contenders such as Matt Bomer, David Oyelowo, Jon Hamm, Sam Claflin, and Woody Harrelson.

In a moving acceptance speech, Yeun expressed his gratitude to his wife, Joana, and acknowledged the hard work and compassion of all those who helped make him incredibly successful.

Thank you, Steven Yeun!
