Amazon wins thedistribution rights, Cooper Bell plays the antagonist

According to foreign media reports, Amazon/MGM won the “Best Enemy” competition with Warner on December 28th, 2008. The film is a spy thriller that features Bradley Cooper and Christian Bell in acclaimed director David Cameron’s voice.

This movie is likely to have Cooper as the director, while Eric Warren Singer, the screenwriter of “The Beauty Scam,” will handle the script. The film is based on the book by Eric DeZehall and Gus Russell, which explores the friendship between CIA agent Jack Platt and Soviet KGB agent Gnadi Vasilenko during the Cold War.

In 1978, Pratt and Vasilenko were both part of the new CIA counter intelligence department and Soviet embassy staff, respectively, but they still managed to build close personal connections and solve some of Washington D.C.’s most famous spy cases from the 20th century, including the ousting of Soviet spy Robert Hansen. However, Vasilenovsky was imprisoned in the Soviet Union for serving as a double agent in America during this time.
