Professor Seo Kyoung Duk addresses Han So Hee’s controversy and Japanese netizens’ reaction

In light of the backlash from Japanese citizens who criticized her for posting a picture of Ahn Jung Geun on her social media account, Professor and social activist Seo Kyoung Duk offered his perspective on the matter.

On December 27, Professor Seo Kyoung Duk expressed his dissatisfaction on social media, stating that “Han So Hee is facing significant protests from Japanese netizens after she posted a photo of Ahn Jung Geun.”

Earlier on December 24 KST, Han So Hee had shared a post that highlighted the humanity of Gyeongseung and their struggle against monsters created by experiments turned humans into instruments. She added that love could only be achieved through mutual support.

Some Japanese netizens expressed their dissatisfaction with these posts, stating that they did not anticipate the author to disregard the feelings of Japanese people when she shared them.

According to Professor Seo Kyoung Duk, the Japanese netizens’ absurd reaction to Han So Hee’s comments on terrorism and the hero may be a result of the government’ inability to properly educate them in history.

He also stated that “K-content seems to be a source of concern for them. With K-dramas and K–movies becoming increasingly popular worldwide, they are concerned that their past mistakes will be made known to the world.” Professor Seo also noted the weakening relationship between Japan and China.
