Yunho and Changmin from TVXQ were the first to reveal their reunion as a pair after leaving behind Jaejoong, Junsu, and Yoochun.
To mark the release of their ninth studio album ’20&2′, TVXQ held a press conference at the Conrad Hotel in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul on December 26.
The two members spoke about their feelings of coming back together as a pair on this day, following the departures of the three previous members. TVXQ initially had five members in its lineup, including Yunho, Changmin, Jaejoong, Junsu, and Yoochun, who released their first single, “Hug,” in December 2003 and gained immense popularity shortly after.
In spite of this, SM Entertainment was sued by members Jaejoong, Junsu, and Yoochun in 2009 for unjust contract conditions. This resulted in Yunho and Changmin being the only ones to remain with the company and return as a pair.
Changmin referred to the 2010 SM TOWN concert as the highlight of 20 years of TVXQ, which was also when they announced their return as a two-member group.
The moment of standing in front of fans during a performance was significant, as it gave him the opportunity to both honor and fear.
