Outer walls of Korean national cultural heritage site Gyeongbokgung Palace vandalized

The police were alerted to reports of vandalism near the outer walls of Gyeongbokgung Palace in the early hours of December 16 KST.

On the outer walls of the palace’s western gate, as well as on the outward walls outside its National Palace Museum of Korea, an unidentified vandal spray-painted what appears to be the address of a website offering “free movie” for unknown money.

As part of a police investigation into the case to determine who caused it, the Cultural Heritage Administration is planning to start restoration work soon to remove the spray paint.

Currently, the vandalized sections of the walls have been covered up. Many individuals in the netherlands are demanding that the perpetrator be punished harshly once they are caught.
