After 14 years, Jinusean’s Sean raises enough money to build South Korea’s first ALS Disease Hospital

Sean, who is a member of the Seungil Hope Foundation and Jinusean, was present at the groundbreaking ceremony for the first ALS Hospital in South Korea earlier this week.

The journey began in 2009 when Sean met ALS-patient Park Seung Il (Sean) and founded the SeUNGil Hope Foundation in 2011, with the goal of creating South Korea’s first hospital that would provide medical treatment to all afflicted patients.

Across the past 14 years, Sean has spearheaded multiple charitable initiatives to raise money for the Seungil Hope Foundation’s ambitious project. He was one of the first celebrities to launch the ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’ social media campaign in South Korea that raised funds for ALS Awareness. Since then, he has donated more than 550 million KRW ( $420,000 USD).

The Seungil Hope Foundation has successfully funded the specialized hospital in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi Province, and it is now expected to be completed in December of 2024.
