The “fast lane” has been expanded to include consumer electronic terminal devices and AI big models.

The OPPO Developer Conference on October 16th saw the official debut of its AndesGPT model, which has 100 billion parameters and is compatible with ColorOS 14, an operating system that enables the Xiaobu mobile assistant to become a significant advance for AI “getting on the computer”.

The arrival of large models on mobile phones is being accelerated by major manufacturers like Huawei, Xiaomi, and VIVO, in addition to OPPO. The industry views AI smartphones and AI PCs as the trend, with demand for downstream AI devices expected to increase rapidly.

The emergence of AI through “on the machine” tactics.

OPPO unveiled the Andes Large Model Andels GPT at the 2023 COPPO Developer Conference, which is self-taught and customized. The upcoming project has three technical characteristics: dialogue enhancement, personal exclusivity, and cloud collaboration, as well as four core skills: knowledge, memory, tools,and creativity.

AndesGPT is ranked second in terms of “knowledge and encyclopedia”, behind GPT4, and third in “role-playing ability” in the SuperCLUE Top 10 Basic Abilities Ranking of September.

The reporter’s understanding is that AndesGPT has several model specifications, each with a unique parameter scale from billion to over one hundred billion, which can be divided into end-to-end operation, cloud operation and other parameters, so that it can support different application scenarios.

With its OPPO function as a conversational intelligent assistant and super terminal entry point, the “Little Cloth Assistant” of the ColorOS system is widely regarded as the best experimental site and technical breakthrough for the implementation of AndesGPT large model applications.

At the meeting, OPPO announced the release of ColorOS 14 – a new generation of colorOS that has been integrated into the large model. The company claims that this new cloth is designed to handle complex mobile operations and can support cultural and graphic scenes, create customized content, summarize summaries, and more.

Moreover, many domestic manufacturers like OPPO have been looking for the integration of AI into consumer electronics terminals, which has become one of the main drivers of domestic AI development.IDC predicts that by 2026 almost 50 percent of Chinese terminal device processors will contain some form of artificial intelligence (AI) technology and with the continuous improvement of “big models” and “hardware”, new innovations will also spring to mind in the consumer electronic industry chain.

The emergence of artificial intelligence in hardware entry points such as smartphones, PCs, smart glasses, and smart speakers will lead to a new wave of innovation in the consumer electronics industry chain. OPPO is said to have announced on October 11th that they will work with MediaTek to create a lightweight large-scale model end-to-end deployment plan. It is also reported that the Tianji 9300 will be used in COPPO’s next generation Find X flagship product.

The HarmonyOS 4 system embedded with the Huawei Pangu model was showcased by Huawei at the 2016 Huawei Developer Conference, and the smart assistant Xiaoyi has AI model capabilities. In his annual speech to Xiaomi founder Lei Jun on August 14th, LeI Jun announced that he had organized a big model team in April this year and would implement it in the company. His voice assistant “Xili” would initially upgrade its big version.

Intel has taken the lead in developing AI PCs. The Intel Core Ultra processor Meteor Lake will be the first computer to be released for the next generation of AI computers, while more recently, Intel announced plans for over 100 million “AI PC Acceleration Program” (PIPC) models by 2025.

The number of monthly active users worldwide surpasses 600 million.

The implementation of AndesGPT has resulted in the upgrading and integration of OPPO’s Pantanal Smart Cross Terminal System. This system utilizes generative AI technology to improve user intention, situational awareness, intelligence, and natural interaction among users.

It is important to note that OPPO Pantanal is not an operating system, but rather a “middleware system” in its definition. This software allows for the integration of various devices, operating systems, and device brands.

In essence, Pantanal is an operating system that operates on OPPO and involves multiple players within a virtuous cycle ecosystem, with cross-functional capabilities that are deeply open. Additionally, application services can flow seamlessly between devices like smartphones, watches, and mobile phones.

During the developer conference of last year, the Pantanal system was fully commercialized. Additionally, ColorOS unveiled its self-built system level computing hub, known as “Corndorf supercomputing platform” (SOC), which facilitates improved resource allocation by leveraging the close collaboration between software and hardware.

OPPO introduced the FindN3 folding machine on October 19th, which is a portable workbench that allows Apple’s Mac, iPad, and iPhone to transfer files and manage data quickly and easily with specialized phones. This is the first time OLEC has collaborated with Apple and can access Apple’s proprietary file format.

ColorOS has a current user base of over 600 million globally, according to OPPO. The company is committed to developing services that integrate the Pantanal system and AndesGPT for intelligent interactive perception and ubiquitous services in the future.
