A strategic partnership with Moon&Back Media, a UK-based entertainment company, was announced by SM Entertainment on November 16 KST.
On this day, the representatives of both agencies gathered at the SM Entertainment building in Seongsu-dong, Seoul, including Deputy CEO Jang Chul Hyuk, CBO Jan Ghong Sung Joo, CAO Lee SUNG SOOO, Creative Director Kung Ta, M&B CEOs Nigel Hall, Russ Lindsay, and Dawn Airey, as well as Music Director Ben Karter, to finalize the deal.
Nigel Hall, the co-founder of M&B, is known for his expertise in producing UK competition shows like ‘The X Factor’ and a former CEO of Getty Images. Additionally, Russ Lindsay founded James Grant Media Group, which is the UK’s largest independent media, music, and sports talent agency.
M&B will continue to promote innovation and investment in its international music/artist IP through their new partnership with SM Entertainment, while also providing local resources. The two companies have a long-term plan to launch an English boy group with K-Pop characteristics in the next year or so.
M&B will be responsible for casting the new boy group members, while SM will oversee the music, MVs, choreography, and various creative content of the group.
M&B’s Russ Lindsay is confident that a new TV show featuring the new boy group will be launched globally in the latter half of 2024, airing simultaneously in Korea, the UK, and the United States.
