Ex-DKZ member Kyoungyoon quietly enlists in military roughly one month after exiting group

Former DKZ member Kyoungyoon has officially enlisted in the military. The news was announced by Dongyo Entertainment on September 11 KST, with the agency saying that he had begun his military mandatory service as an active duty soldier in the ROK Army earlier that day. They also asked fans for their understanding, saying fans were not notified of when his enlistment would be out of Kyoungyoon’s desire to enlist quietly. Meanwhile, as previously reported, Kyoungyoon left DKZ back in early August, roughly five months after the controversy involving his family’s alleged ties to the JMS cult. It was also announced that he would be enlisting in the military within the year.In the handwritten letter that accompanied the announcement, Kyoungyoon explained, “I spent time thinking a lot over the past five months. After thinking about the best choice for all the people I care about, I came to the conclusion that I should let DKZ’s Kyoungyoon go. I hope the fans will understand my choice. I don’t want to regret my choice, even thinking of the remaining members. I will keep these feelings in my heart in the future. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for loving and supporting DKZ’s Kyoungyoon.”
